Dee left her job and all of her belongings and moved her kids to Seattle to escape an abusive relationship. Since arriving here a month ago, a housing situation fell through and she and her family were left homeless. They are now living at Mary's Place homeless shelter.

Complications with Franklin's health when he and his twin brother Harrison were born led to an extended stay at Seattle Children's Hospital.  Franklin is still eating through a feeding tube. After hearing about the Quicks through a mutual friend, Seahawks player Zach Miller sent them a package of signed gear in the mail.  Miller also has twins who spent time in the NICU after a premature birth.
